South East Governors Launch Ebubeagu Regional Security To Replace ESN

The five governors of the Southeast region on Sunday 11th April 2021, launched Ebubeagu regional security out to replace ESN and empowered them to fight terrorism and Fulani Herdsmen attack in the zone. The Chairman of the Southeast governors forum and governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, disclosed this to newsmen at the Imo State government house, alongside with other Southeast governors.

According to him, the regional security outfit would be the joint Vigilante group from Southeast with their headquarters in Enugu state and they have been legally empowered to fight the terrorism and criminals in the south east states.

It would be recalled that Vanguard Newspaper had reported that, following the wave of attacks on public institutions especially the police stations in the South East zone, the five governors of the Southeast, have stormed Owerri on Sunday, 11th April 2021 to take strong decisions on the issue of insecurity in the zone.

The governors in attendance were, Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Ebonyi State governor, Dave Umahi while the host of the event was Imo State governor, Hope Uzodimma.

Also sitting alongside with the Southeast governors included the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo world-wide, Professor George Obiozor as well as top security chiefs in the zone.
