Michael Sylvester Gardenzio popularly known as Sylvester Stallone is a famous Hollywood actor, screenwriter, film producer, director, investor, entrepreneur and a philanthropist. Sylvester Stallone is popularly known for his rule as Rambo in the Hollywood blockbuster movie “Rambo”.

He was born on 6th July 1946 in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City, New York in the United States of America. He is currently 72 years old. His father’s name is Frank Stallone Sr. while his mother’s name is Jacqueline Stallone. His younger brother Frank Stallone Jr. is an actor and a musician. His mother suffered of complications during labor which forced her obstetricians to use two pairs of forceps during his birth.

The misuse of these accidentally severed a nerve and caused paralysis in parts of Sylvester Stallone face. As a result of that accident, the lower left side of his face is paralyzed, including parts of his lip, tongue, and chin, an accident which has given Stallone his snarling look and slightly slurred speech.

Sylvester Stallone was baptized in Roman Catholic Church. In the early 1950s his father moved the family to Washington D.C, where he opened a beauty school. His mother opened a women’s gymnasium called Barbella’s in 1954. Sylvester Stallone attended Notre Dame Academy and Lincoln High School in Philadelphia and Charlotte Hall Military Academy. He also attended Miami Dade College and finally graduated from the University of Miami.

In 1974, he got married to Sasha Czack and divorced her in 1985. In 1985, he got married to Brigitte Nielsen and divorced her in 1987. In 1997, he got married to Jennifer Flavin, whom he is currently with her till date. Sylvester Stallone has five lovely children namely Sage Stallone, Seargeoh Stallone, Sistine Rose Stallone, Sophia Rose Stallone and Scarlet Rose Stallone.

Sylvester Stallone has acted in several Hollywood actions thriller movies which include “Rocky” which was produced in 1975, “Rambo” which was produced in 1982 and “The Expendables” which was produced in 2010. Sylvester Stallone has written and co-written most of the 14 films in all three franchises and has directed many of the films.

Sylvester Stallone film “Rocky” has been inducted into the National Film Registry and had its props placed in the Smithsonian Museum. His use of the front entrance to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Rocky series led the area to be nicknamed the Rocky Steps and Philadelphia has a statue of his Rocky character placed permanently near the museum. It was announced on 7th December 2010 that Sylvester Stallone was voted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in the non-participant category.

In 1977, Sylvester Stallone was nominated for two Academy Awards for Rocky Best Original Screenplay and Best Actor. Sylvester Stallone has been the third man in history to receive these two nominations for the same film after Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles. Sylvester Stallone has received positive reviews as well as his first Golden Globe Award win and a third Academy Award nomination for reprising the role of Rocky Balboa in Ryan Coogler’s 2015 film titled “Creed”. Sylvester Stallone currently lives in Beverly Hills, California in the United States of America.
