A truck load with live ammunitions and bullets heading to an unknown destination falls down in Onitsha, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. The truck which was heading to an unknown destination, lost control and tumbled into a ditch along the streets spilling its content which happens to be live ammunitions and bullets. The incident took place at Awka road on a Sunday morning when passerby were heading to church.
According to an eye witness, the truck fell into a ditch and the entire street was littered with bullets and live ammunitions. Some boys scooped some of the bullets with their hands and ran away before security personnel’s arrived the scene. According to reports from our reliable source, the driver of the truck and the truck assistant left the truck as soon as the accident Occured and ran away to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile another report also has it that the driver was later caught by the Nigerian police. The incident has caused heavy security presence at the Awka road area and shoprite Axis of the city causing heavy traffic. Police and soldiers visited the scene of the incident, and a tipper was brought to carry the bullets and live ammunitions.
