Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have attacked a branch of Living Faith Church Worldwide at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State. According to reports from our credible source, it was learnt that the kidnappers who invaded the church premises when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend, abducted at least three members of the church.
The gunmen were said to have stormed the area, shooting sporadically to scare away interveners before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination. The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the development to newsmen through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.
According to him, the chairman had visited the scene in company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division since the incident occurred. Habeeb Jamiu added that the local government council was working with security agents in the area to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt. The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, was yet to react as at the time of filling this report.
