Unknown Gunmen Kill One Nigerian Soldier As Troops Neutralize Three Bandits In Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army have killed three bandits in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State following actionable intelligence on 17th October, 2023. Unfortunately, they lost one gallant member of the Nigerian army who was killed by the bandits. Director, Army Public Relation, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 said one soldier paid the ultimate price during the encounter with the terrorists.

According to his words; “Troops of the Nigerian Army have continued to sustain the aggressive posture of ongoing operations to rid the nation of terrorism, insurgency and sundry crimes across the country. In recent operations, troops of 2 Battalion acting on actionable intelligence on 17th October 2023 staged an ambush against marauding insurgents at Udowa general area in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

“During the operations, troops neutralized three insurgents in a fierce fire fight, while others escaped in disarray. Troops recovered from the fleeing insurgents, a bandolier containing 111 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, one AK 47 magazine, 2 motorcycles, one set of high frequency communication radio and 2 mobile phones. Sadly one soldier paid the supreme price during the encounter,” Director, Army Public Relation, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu stated.

Meanwhile, 30-year-old most wanted criminal, Abubakar Shauibu has finally been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command. The spokesperson for the Command, Sulaiman Nguroje made this known on the Command’s official twitter page on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.

Releasing photos of the suspect, Suleiman Nguroje wrote; “Another 30-year-old man identified as Shuaibu Abubakar has been arrested following the manhunt by the operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command in collaboration with Hunters on 17th October 2023. The suspect equally hails from Tambo in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa state and was on the wanted list of the Command. Interestingly, One AK-47 Rifle loaded with Sixteen (16) rounds of live ammunition was recovered from the criminal,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, while expressing happiness added that there is no hidden place for criminals in Adamawa State, as strategies to checkmating kidnapping activities has been put in place in these ember months.

Meanwhile, some unknown gunmen reportedly strangled Mrs. Amma Buwa, the daughter of Abacha, a member of the Borno State House of Assembly, to death in the Gidan Dembe neighbourhood of Maiduguri, the state capital. The incident, which caused the stagnation of activities in the area, attracted a large crowd of residents who thronged the scene to catch a glimpse of what happened to the daughter of the lawmaker representing Ngala Local Government Area of the state.

This came less than 24 hours after Governor Babagana Zulum ordered the demolition of brothels, shanties, and makeshift bear joints at the Railway Terminus general area. He claimed these unwholesome activities were breeding criminals and other related killings in the Maiduguri metropolis.

A source who spoke with source said the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday when Abacha was said to have left the compound for a nearby mosque for prayers. Abacha, who took the corpse to the police station, said he found her lifeless body in his house with her hand and legs tied behind her back while her two-year-old child was crying beside her.

Meanwhile, a family member of Abacha (name withheld) who shared the news of the incident on his Facebook page said the remains of the deceased would be buried tomorrow morning in Maiduguri.

Accorrding to his word; “Amma is the daughter of a member representing Ngala at the state House of Assembly in Borno state. The burial will occur at 777 Housing Estate by 10 a.m. in Maiduguri. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” he stated.

However, the Gwange Police Division has reportedly evacuated the corpse to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for autopsy and investigation.
