Uru Kalanwa Eke popularly known as Uru Eke is a fast rising Nollywood actress, producer, model and a television personality. She was born on 11th October 1979 in Newham, East London in the United Kingdom. She is currently 38 years old. She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles and can fit in any character given to her by movie producers and directors in Nigeria.
Uru Eke is originally from Mbaise, a small village in Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria, but was born in Newham, East London in the United Kingdom, where she completed her primary school education.
Uru Eke had her basic education at Galleywall Infants School in London, United Kingdom and obtained her First School Leaving Certificate. After completing her primary school education, Uru Eke relocated to Nigeria to complete her secondary school education. She attended Baptist Girls College in Lagos, Nigeria and obtained her West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing her secondary school education in Lagos, Nigeria, Uru Eke relocated back to London, United Kingdom and briefly attended Lewisham Southwark College in London, before proceeding to the University of Greenwich in London, United Kingdom, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology.
After completing her tertiary education in London, United Kingdom, Uru Eke started out her career as an I.T consultant at Zurich Insurance Group in London, United Kingdom and also worked in several financial and multinational organizations across United Kingdom, before relocating to Nigeria.
In 2011, Uru Eke returned back to Nigeria and joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood). She started out as an actress before venturing into movie production. She is popularly known for her blockbuster movie “Remember Me” which she wrote, produced and featured in.
Uru Eke became very popular after playing the role of Obi in Ndani TV’s popular webseries “Rumour Has It”. She became a public figure after acting in the following Nollywood blockbuster movies like Last Flight to Abuja, Weekend Getaway and Being Mrs. Elliot, amongst others.
Uru Eke is currently one of the most beautiful, most gifted, most skillful, most creative and most talented actresses in Nigeria. She knows how to interpret her roles very well and can fit in any character given to her by movie directors and producers in Nigeria.
Uru Eke has acted in more than 90 Nollywood movies which include Forgive Me Father, Last Flight to Abuja, Weekend Getaway, Being Mrs. Elliot, Finding Love, The Duplex, Remember Me, Rumour Has It, Widows Men, etc. She acts mostly in love and romantic movies alongside with Blossom Chukwujekwu, O.C Ukeje, Uti Nwachukwu, Chelsea Eze, Ken Erics, Chacha Eke and other top Nollywood celebrities.
