Usher Raymond IV, popularly known by his stage name as Usher is a famous American singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer, model and a dancer. He is very handsome, gifted, skillful, creative and very talented. He was born on 14th October 1978 in Dallas, Texas in the United States of America. He is currently 39 years old. He is currently one of the richest and most successful musicians in the United States of America.
His mother’s name is Jonetta Patton and his father’s name is Usher Raymond III. He spent the majority of his young life in Chattanooga in the United States of America. His father left the family when he was just one year old. Usher grew up with his mother, step-father and half-brother, named James Lackey, who was born 1984.
Usher was born in Dallas, Texas, but was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee in the United States of America. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America with his family. At the age of 12 years old, his mother put him in local singing competitions, which enabled him to catch the attention of LaFace Records label boss, who later signed him into their record labels.
As directed by his mother, Usher joined the local church youth choir in Chattanooga in the United States of America when he was 9 years old. While singing with the local church choir, his grandmother discovered his singing ability.
However, in the belief that a bigger city would provide greater opportunities for showcasing his talent, Usher’s family moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States of America, where there was a more conducive environment for beginning singers to get noticed. While in Atlanta, Usher attended North Springs High School in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America.
In 1994, Usher released his self-titled debut studio album “Usher”, but he rose to fame in the late 1990s with the release of his second debut studio album “My Way” which was released in 1997. The album was a commercial success and topped high at the United States Billboard Hot 100.

The album contain hit singles likes Nice & Slow, You Make Me Wanna, My Way, U Remind Me, U Got It Bad and U Don’t Have to Call, amongst others. In 2002 and 2003 respectively, his records sold over 8 million copies worldwide and won him his first two Grammy Awards as best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Usher Raymond hit single “Looking 4 Myself” received Grammy Awards for R&B best single. In 2014, his three hit singles titled There Goes My Baby, Climax and I Don’t Mind, also reached the top-fifteen at the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart. While his latest hit single Hard II Love which was released in 2016 peaked at number 5 on the United States Billboard 200 chart.
Usher has sold over 23.8 million albums and 38.2 million digital songs in the United States of America. Throughout his career as an artiste, he has sold over 75 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
Usher in the cause of his career as a musician has won several awards and accolades which include 18 Billboard Music Awards, and 8 Grammy Awards. At the end of 2009, Billboard named him the second most successful artist of the 2000s decade. Billboard also placed him at number 6 on their list of Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the Past 25 Years.
Usher has attained 9 United States Hot 100 number-one singles. He has been considered as an icon and sex symbol. He has made several televisions and film appearances and has been inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
Usher owns the record label “Raymond-Braun Media Group, a joint venture with talent manager Scooter Braun, who later included young Canadian singer Justin Bieber into the label, after discovering his talent on YouTube.
In 2007, Usher got married to Tameka Foster and divorced her in 2009. After which he got married again to Grace Miguel in 2015 and the marriage is currently blessed with two lovely children.
