War In Aso Rock – Obasanjo Warns Buhari And Ask Him To Step Down Or He Will Expose Him

Nigeria former President Olusegun Obasanjo has severely attacked Nigeria current President Muhammadu Buhari. The ex-president said Buhari has divided the nation with his poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics. The former president made his feelings about Buhari’s administration known in a 13-page statement released weeks ago.

In the statement titled “The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement” former president Olusegun Obasanjo pointed out major failings of the Buhari administration, particularly in the area of economic prosperity. He said the president has performed below the expectations of Nigerians and asked him to take a backseat and help the nation from the sidelines while someone else takes over.

Obasanjo said; “President Buhari needs a dignified and honorable dismount from the horse. He needs to have time to reflect, refurbish physically and recoup. I only appeal to Buhari to consider a deserved rest at this point in time and at this age. I continue to wish him robust health to enjoy his retirement from active public service.  President Buhari does not necessarily need to heed to my advice. But whether or not he heeds to it, Nigeria needs to move on and move forward.”

Obasanjo also faulted the president for appearing to exhibit nepotic interest, and further stated that Buhari administration is quack and known for not taking responsibility for issues. He stated that there are three other areas where President Buhari has come out more glaringly than most of us thought we knew about him. One is nepotic deployment bordering on clannishness and inability to bring discipline to bear on errant members of his nepotic court. This has grave consequences on performance of his government to the detriment of the nation.

Obasanjo further revealed that, in Buhari government it appears that national interest was being sacrificed on the altar of nepotic interest. He thereby described Buhari government as incompetent. He stated that corrupt cases are buried, ignored or covered up and yet corruption glares right in front of the media and the public.

He also stated that Buhari has poor understanding of the dynamics of internal politics and that his ignorant on political matter is making the nation more divided and inequality has widened and become more pronounced. He further reveals that this act has an effect on the ground of national security.

He further reveal that Buhari instead of working to make the economy stable, he is blaming the Governor of the Central Bank for devaluation of the naira by 70% and also blaming past governments for it. Obasanjo further reveal that Buhari is someone who is not willing of accepting his own responsibility.

According to his words; “Let nobody deceive us, economy feeds on politics and because our politics is depressing, our economy is even more depressing today. If things were good, President Buhari would not need to come in and contest for an election. He was voted to fix things that were bad and not engage in the blame game.”

Obasanjo further revealed that they are no hope in APC and they are no hope in PDP. He further stated that the country needs a new and vibrant political party comprising of the youths who will take the country to the promise land.

Obasanjo also expressed his lost hope in the ability of the ruling All Progressives’ Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in providing Nigeria with the initiative it needs to progress.

According to his words; “I have had occasion in the past to say that the two main political parties APC and PDP were wobbling.  I must reiterate that nothing has happened to convince me otherwise. If anything, I am reinforced in my conviction. If neither APC nor PDP is a worthy horse to ride to lead Nigeria at this crucial and critical time, what then do we do?

Remember Farooq Kperogi, an Associate Professor at the Kennesaw State University in Georgia, United States of America calls it a cruel Hobson’s choice, it is like a choice between six and half a dozen, between evil and evil. Any selection or deflection would be a distinction without a difference.

“We cannot just sit down lamenting and wringing our hands desperately and hopelessly, we need the youths to come out massively in 2023, choose a leader among themselves, match to the polling station and elect a vibrant youth, someone between 30 to 35 years old to take Nigeria to the promised land.

Obasanjo slams President Buhari and reveals that Nigeria is an embarrassing state. Former Nigerian leader, Olusegun Obasanjo, has unleashed a fresh volley of attacks on the incumbent president of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari, over his poor handling of the country’s affairs.

Daily Trust reports that Obasanjo warned that Nigeria is fast drifting towards a failed state under the administration of President Buhari. Obasanjo was said to have made the claim during a speech titled ‘Moving Nigeria Away From Tipping Over’ which he delivered at a dialogue in Abuja, the federal capital territory.

The event was said to have been held behind closed doors in the Federal Capital Territory. The former president expressed sadness at the divided state of the nation and charged that necessary steps have to be taken to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

“Old fault lines that were disappearing have opened up in greater fissures and with drums of hatred, disintegration and separation and accompanying choruses being heard loud and clear almost everywhere,” Obasanjo said. Obasanjo described Nigeria’s current state as saddening and embarrassing to citizens. The economy, he said, is now a basket case.

According to his words; “I do appreciate that you all feel sad and embarrassed as most of us feel as Nigerians with the situation we find ourselves in. Today, Nigeria is fast drifting to a failed and badly divided state. Economically our country is becoming a basket case and poverty capital of the world, and socially, we are firming up as an unwholesome and insecure country.”

Legit.ng one of Nigeria most popular news site noted that Obasanjo words came just days after protests broke out across the nation over police brutality and bad government. The citizens most especially the youth came out in masses to protest against police brutality and bad government.

Legit.ng further reported recently that Obasanjo tackled President Buhari over rising insecurity in the country and told him boldly to step down and hand over power to someone capable of delivering Nigeria from the state of chaos and hopelessness.

Obasanjo faulted the current security structure under Buhari, noting that criminality has become the order of the day. Obasanjo made the assertion during a speech he delivered at the 2020 Sobo Sowemimo Annual Lecture in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

  • Comrade Niyi AZEEZ JP says:

I just read GEN. Obasanjo’s Address and I found it bold and cogent. Although Obj has a blame or Buhari’s way or style of running this most populous African Nation but honestly has a big blame. One can say that because of Obj’s support of Buhari’s Presidency he tored his PDP card Membership to convince Nigerians of his total Support of Buhari in 2015 but Buhari now only disappointed Obj but the entire Very Reasonable Nigerians. Obj has voiced out which is on the People’s Side, it’s now left to Bola Hamed Tinubu the Jagaban to also speak out now but which I doubt if he will do that because of his Ambition to take over from Buhari but not known that he’s Deceiving himself because he’s being Deceived because God Crown no man Crown and if man Crown the government would be wobbled.

Finally with all that is happening now in Buhari’s Government glaringly obvious that he’s not totally in charge. That’s the truth.

  • Paul says:

It is only the truth that can save Nigeria from the hand of the people who think we are log of wood. Time shall tell. God must sure vindicate his people.
Obj need to remedy the situation because he is the architect of what we are experiencing now. thank God he has realized it and he is fighting it to finish it.
Nigeria must be great again, all we need is prayers and God intervention.
