Former Nigeria minister of aviation Femi Fani Kayode has made a very controversial statement through a post on his official Twitter account. In the post, he claimed that the rest of Nigeria has to apologize to the people of the south east for the way they have been treated. He started by saying that there are people who have been turned to slaves in Nigeria even when there are masters.
He went on to claim that those who suppose to see themselves as masters consider themselves as slaves in Nigeria. He called on Nigerians to come together and tell them that they are no slaves rather they are masters in Nigeria.
Femi Fani Kayode stated that the rest of Nigeria has to apologize to the people of the south east for their sufferings. He went on to say that the Igbos lost almost 2 million people in the civil war and about 1 million were children.
He also stated that the same Igbos were slaughtered on 28th July 1966 when 300 of their officers were slaughtered in one night. He proceeded to say that a few months later, over 100,000 Igbos were slaughtered in the north and this included pregnant women.
He stated that Igbo people were killed like flies from house to house and then the civil war came with more damage to them. He claimed that after the civil war, killing of Igbos continued in the north.
According to Femi Fani Kayode, the rest of Nigeria has to apologize to the Igbos for that reason.
