President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that all Eid Al-Fitr (Sallah) celebrations be limited due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The President’s directive comes as Muslims in Nigeria prepare to end the holy month of Ramadan fasting. The President also condoles with all those who lost their family members due to the insecurity in the country.
His message is contained in a statement signed by Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesperson. The President called on all local leaders to talk to their youths and warn them against being used to incite or foment violence in the country.
He advised all local leaders in Nigeria to warn their youths to stop attacking security operatives. He went further to state that attack on security agents, who will protect us from future emergency.
