Ycee Biography and Net Worth

Oludemilade Martin Alejo popularly known by his stage name as Ycee is a fast rising Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, recording artiste and stage performer. He was born on 29^th January 1993 in Festac Town, Lagos State in the western part of Nigeria. He is currently 24 years old. He is very skillful, creative and talented. 

He raps mostly in pidgin, Yoruba language and English. Ycee completed his primary school education at Dr. Soyemi Memorial Nursery and Primary School in Festac Town, Lagos State, Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.

After completing his primary school education, Ycee proceeded to Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing his primary and secondary school education, Ycee got admitted to University of Lagos (UNILAG) where he is currently studying Marine Biology. He combines both his music career and his academic studies together.

Ycee started his music career in 2012 as an underground rapper prior to signing a music contract with Tinny Entertainment. Due to his educational engagements, he took time off music after gaining admission to study Marine Biology at the University of Lagos.

In May 2015, Ycee made a comeback to the entertainment industry after releasing his hit single “Condo”. The song was nominated for Best Collaboration of the Year and Best Music Video of the Year at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

On 20^th July 2015, Ycee released his most popular hit single titled “Jagaban” a song that brought him to limelight. The song received massive airplays and made him more popular among music critics, including Olamide who requested to be featured on the remix of the song.

Ycee became highly famous after he was nominated for the Revelation of the Year Award at the 2015 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards, as well as earning a nomination for Best Artist in African Pop category at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards.

Ycee is currently signed to Tinny Entertainment. He became a public figure after one of his singles titled “Condo” which features vocals from Patoranking earned him two nominations at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

In October 2016, Ycee signed a record deal contract with Sony Music. In December 2016, he was nominated for Next Rated at the Headies Awards. On 12^th January 2018, Ycee did his Juice Concert at the O2 Academy, 16 Parkfield Street, London, United Kingdom. In 2017, he released his first debut studio album “The First Wave” with hit singles like Jagaban, Link Up, Juice, Say Bye Bye, Omo Alhaji, Panda Cover and Smile on Me.

Ycee in the cause of his music career has been nominated for several awards which include Best Collaboration of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Best Music Video of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Revelation of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards, Best Artist in African Pop at the All Africa Music Awards, Next Rated at the Headies Awards and Best Collaboration at the Soundcity Awards.

Ycee in the cause of his music career has also won several awards which include Rookie of the Year at the Headies Awards and Best African Hip-hop at the AFRIMA Awards.

Ycee is currently one of the richest and most influential artiste in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $1.5 million.
